Do you remember the story of Abraham and Sarah? If not, you can totally grab your Bible or pull up the Bible app on your phone and read through Genesis 18 through 21 to get up to speed on this ongoing conflict.
The short story is that Abraham had Ishmael and Isaac, and they have been at odds (to put it mildly) for millennia. Ishmael was the eldest son of Abraham, but Isaac was known as the chosen one who was promised by God.
Down the line, Isaac’s descendants became known as the Israelites, and Ishmael’s descendants became known as the Ishmaelites.
There is a piece of land that the two nations have been fighting over, attempting to claim it for themselves. This land is called Palestine. Palestine is a piece of land that lies within Israel.
Three main religions rule in Israel: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Apparently, the Jews and the Palestinians have been fighting over territory for ages. You can see the territorial changes over the years, from the illustrations below.
As you can see, when you mix religion, politics, and territory, in this case, you get chaos.
We’ve very briefly covered the history of this fight, but there is much more to it. In this YouTube clip, Trevor Noah covers the controversial story of Israel vs. Palestine.

What can we do about it as Believers? How can we help?
For starters, we can refrain from harboring ill-wishes toward anyone involved. The last thing any of us needs is negative thoughts, words, and wishes toward us.
So, why give those kind of vibes to others, right?
We can also offer prayers for the innocent people who are caught up in the fight and being killed as a result of it.
