Tye Tribbett’s social media is all the buzz, after the 2x Grammy Award winning artist posted graphic photos and videos of the aftermath of an accident he had the morning of the West Coast leg of his tour.
Apparently, Tye was packing for his trip, when an accident occurred and left a deep-looking gash on the left side of his face.
In the post, he also shared a video of his doctor advising him to refrain from singing, at least for the next few days, to avoid ripping the freshly sewn stitches in his jaw.
The “We Gon’ Be Alright” singer assured his fans that he was still on his way to the next city. He filmed a message from the plane, sharing that he was in some pain, and reiterating the doctor’s orders.
Just before the video cuts off, Tye expressed his love for his fans, and shared that his wife is with him through all of this.
We wish Tye well, and hope that he’s able to stay safe, take care of himself, and heal quickly. Many prayers to him during this time. We know how rough it can be to be in the middle of something and have it seemingly put to a hault.
Tye Tribbett has been on his ALL THINGS NEW tour, and was slated to perform at the Oakland Arena in Oakland, CA on Sunday, November 5th. You can view all of the tour dates at tyetribbett.com.
He’s been on tour with Kirk Franklin for the Reunion Tour that features Tamela Mann, The Clark Sisters, Israel Houghton, and more gospel music heavy hitters.
Update!!! Tye Tribbett Is Back In Action
It looks like Tye is recovering quite well. He posted again on his Instagram profile a montage of videos where he showed clips from his show in Oakland where he wore a black mask throughout the show, and gave high energy as always. It was a joy to see him jumping around stage having a good time.
He even teased telling the story of what happened to cause the gash to his face. Check out the post below. We’re glad all things are seeming well with our brother in Christ right now.
