World Adoption Day is a day dedicated for people in the adoption community to share their adoption stories with the rest of the world and to reflect on their journeys. November is Adoption Awareness Month, and today, November 9, 2023 is World Adoption Day. World Adoption Day is celebrated through parties and events that bring people together from all over to draw awareness to adoption.
Kirk Franklin took to his Instagram earlier today to share his story of how a woman in her 60s adopted him and made sacrifices to raise him. He shared that she didn’t get the opportunity to see him blossom into the musical giant he is today, but that she invested in him by paying for his piano lessons.
According to the US Census, around 5,000,000 people are adopted in the United States.
